Your cycle stays yours
Moontide is a period logging and companion app for iPhone and Apple Watch. It has no Moontide account system, advertising, behavioral analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
Data used by the app
With your permission, Moontide reads period entries, HRV and sleeping wrist temperature from Apple Health. Cycle estimates and body-signal displays are calculated on device. Flow entries and optional mood check-ins are saved to Apple Health. Wrist temperature is currently displayed, not used to time check-ins.
Where records live
Complete Health records remain in Apple Health. Moontide does not maintain another raw Health-history database; optional push-service metadata is described below. Apple Health encryption and synchronization depend on Apple services and your system settings.
Preferences, reminders and the watch face
Your device stores reminder times, wording, sample mode and dates needed to avoid repeat reminders. A file-protected, backup-excluded same-day action receipt preserves correct confirmation when Health reads are unavailable; expired receipts are removed. The phone-to-watch connection transfers reminder preferences, not Health samples. Notifications may appear on a lock screen, so discreet wording is the default.
What the push server receives
When you use real data with Live Activity reminders on, the app sends Cloudflare Workers/D1 a random anonymous installation UUID kept locally, an APNs push-to-start token, sandbox or production environment, timezone, up to ten UTC reminder times and English/Chinese language preference. It does not send period entries, flow, HRV, temperature, mood or your answers. Reminder times may indirectly reveal an expected cycle window and should be treated as sensitive metadata. If you turn these reminders off, nothing is registered and local notifications keep working on their own. Optional mood choices are saved only to Apple Health.
Retention and stopping reminders
Each registration replaces the previous plan. Due slots are deleted after a send attempt, including failures without retry. Installation records are removed after the final slot, invalid-token response, empty replacement or received deletion request. Plans extend at most 45 days; record expiry is five minutes after the last slot, removed on the next healthy five-minute cron tick. Cron outages or backlog can delay deletion. Database recovery copies may remain under Cloudflare retention rules. Disabling reminders or system Live Activities, or recording a period, updates or unregisters the plan when the app can run and connect. An offline/suspended phone or a watch entry not yet synced cannot immediately revoke queued pushes. Uninstalling cannot guarantee a deletion request; remaining plans expire on this schedule.
Push service and infrastructure
Push-service application code does not read or store request IPs or write access logs. Metadata is not used for advertising, tracking or identity linkage. Cloudflare and Apple APNs process network requests and necessary technical data for delivery; this is not a claim that infrastructure providers never process IPs. Their logging and recovery copies follow their own service terms. If push is unavailable, local notifications keep working.
A short-lived watch-face summary
The default watch face shows a moon. If you enable cycle day, the watch stores a file-protected, backup-excluded summary for the complication. Cycle numbers expire after 36 hours; reopen the watch app to refresh. The system may delay widget updates.
Permissions and deletion
Revoke access in system Health settings and manage or delete entries in Apple Health. Uninstalling Moontide does not delete Health records. Moontide can modify only entries it created. Apple does not disclose denied read permission to apps, so an empty view does not always mean there is no history.
The website and support
This website does not collect period or Health records and does not use advertising or analytics tracking. Appearance preference stays in your browser. Hosting services may process technical access logs. Email links open your mail app; information you choose to send is used to respond and help resolve your issue. Please do not send full Health exports, passwords or verification codes.
Contact and release status
Contact laths.delays-9d@icloud.com for privacy or support. Moontide 1.0 is free, with no in-app purchases. A download link will be added after App Store availability.
Moontide does not provide diagnosis, treatment or contraceptive advice. Cycle estimates only guide the timing of check-ins.
